This is what Vincent (27, Netherlands) and Philippe (19, France) thought about their work & travel experience in Australia and New Zealand:
“I have always been an outdoors fan and decided to do a work and travel experience in Australia in 2006. The first three months I worked as a bartender in the Rocks, a famous district in Sydney. It was hard work with long hours, but the contact with the other travellers was awesome! Then I travelled around and visited Canberra, Adelaide and Melbourne before shooting of to the Gold Coast, where I stayed and worked as a surf instructor. That was good fun! I would recommend this work & travel program to anyone who likes adventure and is open for a challenge.” (Vincent)
In 2007 I took 10 months off to travel around the world. The places I visited were USA, South America (Brazil), Australia, New Zealand and Asia (Thailand). I stayed for 5 months in New Zealand and did a working holiday, which allowed me to earn some extra money. I started off in the Bay of Plenty doing some fruit picking. Then I travelled south and did some bar work in Christchurch and Queenstown. Thanks to Linguavision I also got a discount card to travel within New Zealand at a competitive rate.
