Step 1: Information
If you have decided that you want to become an au pair in New Zealand you will receive information about the country, estimated costs, visa information… It is a good idea to do some research so you will know more about where you are about to go.
Step 2: Application form
It costs nothing to fill out and send us your general application form (without references and the medical check).
Step 3: Interview
You will be interviewed so that we can get the chance to get to know you better and to see if being an au pair in New Zealand is the right choice for you.
Step 4: Your personal file
After you have received all the information about being au pair in New Zealand and decided that this is what you want to do, you have to complete your application form with other necessary documents such as e.g. references, dear host family letter, your medical check documents etc. By sending us these documents, you are obligated to follow the terms and conditions of the program.
Step 5: Search for your family
We carefully choose our families and only arrange a placement when we are sure there is a great match. You will be able to contact your family, which gives you a chance to get to know them and to ask them all the questions you might have. If you would then decide not to ‘go for each other’ we will look for another family.
Step 6: Visa
After you have found a host family you will have to apply for your visa. You can do that through an embassy or with an online application (which is usually a lot faster).
Step 7: Kia Ora, welcome to New Zealand!
Upon arrival in New Zealand, you will receive a welcome pack with information about your new city, things to see & do, language courses you can follow, and about what is expected from you as an au pair…
Step 8: During your au pair period in New Zealand
During your stay you’ll have our ongoing support, with 2 au pair meetings a year, travel information, and much more…
Step 9: Before you go home
Prior to your departure, we will assist in helping you to reconfirm your return flight.
