Visa Information

Although a return ticket is not requested, a valid passport and visa are required from citizens who are coming from: UK, Australia, Canada, USA and EU. All nationals from these countries can obtain a tourist visa upon arrival. If your country is not listed here, please contact us for further information or contact the nearest Nepal embassy.

The cost of the visa depends on whether you want a single entry or multiple entry visa and on how long you want to stay. The visa is valid for up to 6 months from the date of issue and can be prolonged. All fees have to be paid in US$.

Visa extension:
The tourist visa can be extended at the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu or the Pokhara Immigration Office for a total of 120 days. An additional 30 days visa may be granted on reasonable grounds. Over the course of a visa year, a tourist cannot stay in Nepal for a total of 150 days.
